She went on to earn her Medical Doctorate from Mercer University in Columbus, Ga., before completing her residency in internal medicine at Memorial Health University Medical Center where she served as Associate Administrative Chief Resident of Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Spelts is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In her free time, Dr. Spelts enjoys horseback riding, fishing, fitness and coastal living.
